Brief Description:
A paddleboard race in the beautiful waters of the Monterey Bay. It is in memory of Santa Cruz waterman Jay Moriarity. Paddle the 12 mile or 2 mile course. Free races for kids 12 and under.
Additional Information
6am Check-in for 12 mile course. 8am Jay Ceremony. 8:30am 12 mile start. 8:30am 2 mile check-in. 9:30am 2 mile start. 9:50am first 2 mile finishers. 10:20am first 12 mile finishers. 11:30am Lunch, awards and kids races. 12:15pm Raffle.
Fees:
12 mile race $40.00, 2 mile race $25.00: You get a cool Tee-shirt, a Hawaiian plate lunch, snacks, water, goodie-bag and sore muscles.

Quiksilver Edition 12 mile race
Quiksilver Edition will be putting up prize money for the top 3 paddlers in the 12 mile race. 1st overall $500, 2nd $300, 3rd $200.
Roxy Women's Paddleboard Challenge 12 mile race
Roxy will be putting up prize money for the top 3 women paddlers in the 12 mile race. 1st overall $300, 2nd $150, 3rd $50 Women must paddle a "stock" 12 foot board to qualify for prize money.
Pre-Registration Gathering 6/20
Friday, June 20th, Santa Cruz Harbor Beach, 4-7 pm. Meet other paddlers, pick up your goodie-bag, and talk race strategy. Last chance to get discounted entry fee.
Divisions
12 mile: Unlimited, 14 foot, Stock, Women, Stand-Up 13 ft 1" and over, Stand-up 13' and under. 2 mile: Longboards, paddleboards (all types), stand-up.

Wanna paddle but don't want a tee-shirt or food? Entry is $10.00! No online registration. Race day Registration only at 0830. BYOB (bring your own board).
BYOB
New for 2008. The 2 mile race will be run during the 12 mile race. You must BYOB (bring your own board). Start looking now if you are going to borrow one. No loans or boards provided on race day. Sorry!
Kids Races
Youth 12 and under. Fun races at age appropriate distances. We provide the soft boards. Close lifeguard supervision. Cost: It's Free!!! Starts during lunch. Just show up!
Proceeds
Our proceeds are donated to Junior Lifeguard Programs in Santa Cruz County. The donations provide kids with JG scholarships in Jay's name and provides new paddleboards to train and have fun on.
